I had a birthday not long ago. It was one of those “big” birthdays that ends in a zero! And I can neither confirm nor deny that it rhymes with “nifty.”

I think every birthday offers an opportunity to reflect on life so far, as well as a chance to look to the future. The number doesn’t bother me too much but realizing I’m closer to retirement than the start of my career is a weird feeling.

As I look back on life, I’m happy to say I don’t have any major regrets. Not that my life has been perfect and there are certainly things I would do differently. But overall, I’m happy with how my life has gone so far.

The biggest thing I wish I’d done differently is focused more on my dream of entrepreneurship. Not counting the lemonade stand I had at age 10, I started my first business my freshman year in college.

There have been other business ventures through the years. Some have done better than others, but all have helped me grow as a person and as a professional. And all of them have brought purpose to my life.

While I could sit here today and be discouraged that I didn’t prioritize my dream of being a full-time entrepreneur sooner, I’m reminded of this Chinese proverb:

“The best time to plan a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”

So this week—at my advanced age—I’m launching The Wholistic Productivity Podcast to help people learn the importance of prioritizing their goals and dreams in every area of life.

You’ll also see a brand-new website to be a resource hub for everything offered by Wholistic Productivity. And in a couple of weeks, we’ll roll out the completely redesigned productivity planner.

My message for you today is two-fold: don’t put off your goals another day, but never feel like it’s too late to start following your dreams.

I’m so glad you’re on this journey with me! I only hope that you don’t wait as long as I did to make your goals a priority!

Goal Journey Design: Why Your Goals Deserve More Than Good Intentions

Are you using goal journey design to set and achieve your goals? If that term is new to you, let me introduce the concept. Goal journey design is the difference between hoping your goals work out and intentionally shaping the experience required to achieve them. It’s...

Time Management Mindset: Why You Can’t Afford to Waste Today

As we enter 2026, many people are thinking about time management again—new planners, new systems, new promises to “do better this year.” But before adding another tool or technique, it’s worth pausing to reconsider something deeper: your time management mindset. Most...

Starting the New Year With Focused Energy, Not Emotional Baggage

Starting the new year with focused energy is harder than it sounds. January arrives whether we’re ready or not, and too often it shows up carrying everything we didn’t resolve the year before. Stress. Fatigue. Disappointment. Lingering anxiety. We tell ourselves we’re...
