I remember being told as a young boy to make good choices in the friendships I formed. It was usually a warning not to fall in with the “wrong crowd” for fear that I could be guilty by association.
There were always stories—morality tales if you will—about what would happen if you made the wrong friends. In elementary school, it was getting in fights on the playground. In high school it was the fear of drugs or a life of crime.
They used fear to keep us from making bad friendships instead of talking about the benefits of lifelong friends who bring meaning to our lives.
Thankfully, the friendships I formed, particularly in high school and college, remain some of my dearest and closest friends. And they’re decent, upstanding Christian men.
Honestly, the most questionable personality flaw in my closest circle of friends is that one of them is a Yankees fan. (So, maybe I didn’t choose that wisely)!
As adults, this idea of who you align yourself with has less to do about getting in trouble as it does about finding success.
Hang out with negative people who find fault in everything, and you’ll slip into those patterns too. Surround yourself with positive people who see the good in the world, and you’ll do the same.
This is especially true when it comes to our goals. It’s one thing to set a goal; it’s another to have people around you who remind you why it matters, push you forward when you stall, and celebrate when you hit the milestones.
That’s why I’ve been working on a new space where people can find encouragement, accountability, and support for the things that matter most—the Wholistic Productivity community on Skool.
I’ve seen the difference this kind of support makes in real life. There are several people at work who are also runners. We constantly encourage each other, share running tips, and invite one another to register for new races. Having this type of support system has been great for me as a relatively new runner.
Similarly, I have friends who are entrepreneurs working to grow their business just like I am. When we get together (which is not often enough) we can discuss challenges, share ideas and resources, and celebrate wins together.
That’s the same kind of energy I want to bring to Skool — a place where professional, personal, and purpose-driven goals don’t have to be pursued alone.
When we seek out community with others aligned to our goals and interests, we can work together to achieve what matters most in our lives.
That’s exactly what’s already happening in the Wholistic Productivity community on Skool. Even though I’m still building out resources, the energy inside the group is incredible. People from all over the world are connecting, encouraging one another, and sharing their own strategies for success.
If you have professional, personal, or purpose-driven goals that you want to achieve, you don’t need to chase them alone. Inside this community, you’ll find accountability, fresh ideas, and people who want to see you win.
Everyone in the Wholistic Productivity community is building toward something greater. Together, we’re not just checking off goals—we’re changing the trajectory of our lives, and little by little, making an impact on the world around us.
I’d love for you to be part of it. Come join us on Skool and see how much further you can go when you’re surrounded by others who can help you Dream Big. Plan Smart Live Fully.
